BLACK LIVES MATTER

DEIW unequivocally stands alongside our Black colleagues in DEIW and EEMB in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement. We commit to supporting the centuries-long work of Black people to fight for their collective liberation, by continually re-evaluating the actions and judgments of our department. We maintain that anti-racism is not a distraction from science; rather, it is an integral part of the scientific process. We look forward to working with our academic peers to actively cultivate the diversity, equity, and inclusion that we seek in the fields of ecology, evolution, and marine biology.
